Namma Metro Bangalore serves the city of Bangalore and is spread across 42.3 km. It consists of 51 stations, and currently, only Phase 1 of the metro network is now operational. Phase 2 of the metro is under construction, and Phase 3 is in the planning stage.
Electricity is supplied to the metro trains through the third rail, which transmits a direct current of 750 volts. The metro trains run at a frequency of 5 to 15 minutes under 80km/hr speed. Daily, more than 5 lakh people use the Bangalore metro.
Bangalore Metro map is now operating with 2 major route lines – Purple Line and Green Line. Four more route lines are under construction, and they will be operational soon in the coming months.
Purple Line was the 1st operational metro line of Bangalore. It has 37 stations and 4 interchanges.
The Green Line is the 2nd operational line on the current metro routes. It runs on 29 stations.
The upcoming yellow line will cover over 18 km on the Bangalore metro map. It will run on 16 stations.
Blue line is the first Bangalore airport metro. It will link Kasturi Nagar to the Bangalore airport. This blue line will cover a distance of 58.1 km with 30 stations.
The Pink line of the metro will connect Nagawara to Gottigerre. It will have 18 stations, and some of the stations will be under ground.
The Orange metro line will be developed in the Phase 3 of the Bangalore metro station map. It will connect Phase 2A & Phase 3A at a single station.
