Kempegowda International Airport's distance from Birla Evara is 50 Km away and is reachable via ORR or NH-44. It takes about 1 and a half hours to reach the airport via buses or cabs. The township is located on Sarjapur Road near Varthur, which is easily accessible to the airport with a low traffic rush.

Birla Evara is located approximately 50 kilometers from Kempegowda International Airport, offering convenient access to air travel while nestled in the heart of North Bangalore

Kempegowda International Airport is the main or sole serving airport of Bangalore that started in 2008. It is named after Kempegowda I, the founder of the city. This vast, fully solar-powered airport is spread over 16 sq. Km (6.2 square miles). It is situated approx 35 km north of the city, near Devanahalli. The airport is owned and run by a public-private consortium that is BIAL. It is one of the busiest airports in India and is the replacement for HAL Airport. The airport is famous for attending more than 20 million passengers each year. The Bangalore airport is a hub for Air India, Alliance Air, DHL Aviation, FedEx Express, and Star Air.

The KIAB map shows that the airport is located in the Northern part of Bangalore. It is in the Rural District of the city, and its elevations are 915 m / 3,002 ft, along with its coordinates that are:

  • Longitude: 13°11′56″N
  • Latitude: 077°42′20″E

It has been on the outer of the city and is reachable via buses, metros, and cabs.

The transit facilities available from the airport are:

  • Buses and Cabs - There are several BMTC buses and private taxis available from all parts of the city. The fares of the buses and taxis depend on the distance. The avg bus fare is between Rs. 60 to 400 and cabs is Rs. 500 to 3000.
  • Metro - From the Bangalore airport, the Baiyappanahalli Metro Station is approx 900 m to 1 Km away. It runs on the Purple Namma Metro Line and reduces the traveling time of the flyers.

Bangalore Airport is owned and operated by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), a public-private partnership. The ownership structure is as follows:

  • Fairfax India Holdings Corporation - 54%
  • Siemens Projects Ventures GmbH – 20%
  • Government of Karnataka – 13%
  • Airports Authority of India (AAI) – 13%

Fairfax India, holds the majority stake in the airport and is a a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings.

Bangalore Airport has 2 Terminals called T1 and T2 that host domestic and international flights. The airport currently has 2 runways.

The domestic operations at the airport are managed by Terminal 1, which can handle 35 million passengers per year. Flights operated by IndiGo, Akasa Air, Alliance Air, and SpiceJet use this terminal. Currently, Terminal 1 has only 2 lounges: the BLR Domestic Lounge and the 080 Domestic Lounge. Before 2023, this terminal handled both domestic and international flights, but due to a rise in traffic, it was turned into a domestic terminal.

Designed as a tribute to Bengaluru’s "Garden City" title, the airport’s second terminal was created by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and built by Larsen & Toubro. It was inaugurated on 11 Nov 2022 and began operations in January 2023. T2 features 5 lounges, including the 080 Domestic Lounge (with a VIP Lounge), the 080 International Lounge (with a VIP Lounge), and the newly opened Air India Domestic Lounge.
